Ted v0.9 Created by Roel and Joost

I adamantly refuse to watch that thing in the middle of my living room that my boys worship like a god. I call it the boob tube or the idiot box. I scoff at the bill each month that rolls by, because I never seem to find the time to actually sit down in front of it. I, too, can’t get “local” channels, so that leaves me out of actually watching “T.V.”. I am, however, a worshiper of the McDreamy’s and the McSteamy’s of Grey’s Anatomy, after my entire family, including my Dad, said it was a must see.

Well, if you happen to be in love with an entertaining serving of brain mush, but don’t have the resources in which to actually serve it up, then you might be in a predicament. At least that’s what I thought. After many hours of research last season, chomping at the bit to see what happened next, I discovered that my bit torrent client Azureus has a wonderful plug-in that allows you to download television shows via an RSS Feed. I had not reconfigured it for this season and inadvertently missed the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, :(. It can be troublesome to go and actually find the feed and put in all the tracking information into Azureus.

Enter, Ted: Torrent Episode Downloader or my new best friend. I was a bit leery at first, but was completely sold as I scrolled down the list of television shows, and not only found Grey’s Anatomy, but House, M.D. too! I just clicked the episodes that I wanted and boom got the torrents to load into Azureus and away she went, and away I’m going to see what happened next…(link)

Wyzo~The New Media Browser v0.5.3.19 (alpha)

Well, so far so good. I’m completely in love with the newest arrival to Mozilla’s family of browsers. Wyzo looks and feels much like Firefox without the add-ons, but has the speed of Camino. The most interesting feature is the additional torrent searching option. Maybe Torrentz.com and Mozilla got together and said, “Hell, why not? Let’s make a baby.” Have you ever tried to Google a .torrent file, well good luck. Not only are there tons of useless crap to weed through, but finding the particular file you’re looking for is literally like looking for a needle in a hay stack, or should I say, finding a baby that doesn’t cry? Wyzo is being offered for Mac OS X and Windows, which, in my opinion can be beneficial. The Opera Browser offers a similar feature, but it wants to download the torrent file for you. I particularly don’t like this option, and I haven’t been able to find a way to change it. I’m not too keen on Opera’s inability to import bookmarks either, but that’s besides the point. No wonder Apple, Inc. advertises that Opera is the fastest browser, I would too if I knew that no one really used it!

This version of Wyzo is still in diapers, but seems to be an up and coming child prodigy. It doesn’t function as though it’s an alpha version, but I’ve only been using it a few days now. Test it with me and lets find out just how much this baby really does know. (link)
