I hate I didn’t come across this nifty little app before CoolOSXapps, but non the less, I sure as hell am happy that I finally came across it. Wow, I’ll never loose anything again! Well that may be greatly overstating the obvious, but wow. I am completely overwhelmed at the power of this app. SpotInside is by far the greatest search for anything your heart desires, kinda application that I’ve found as of yet, and this includes the forever measly spotlight. This application will not only search your entire Mac’s files for anything you put in the search bar, but it searches within the documents themselves. OMG. That isn’t all. It will give you a preview of the file where the searched term is highlighted and the path in which to find it without opening any other application.

For instance, I was just playing around and put “icon” into the search bar and voila`, I was almost instantaneously given a huge amount of results and they were categorized by frequency and relevance. No more waiting for search results. With my mouth wide open, I began to scroll down the list of results and double clicked on one only to have it open the appropriate application for reading the entire entry, but I didn’t have to do that because the excerpt was already inside the viewing window. I’d have to agree that this is a very Cool OSX app. Thanks guys, and thanks Oneriver Software for making it entirely free. (link)
