LiteIcon v1.2.2 by Julien Ramseier

If you’ve just unpackaged your new Mac and are interested in getting into the nitty gritty of OS X and it’s most wonderful GUI, then you have got to pick-up LiteIcon. This is the perfect starter application for newbies and switchers. Of course, you will find many more interesting applications as you travel through the uncharted waters of the Mac World, but for starters this will surely get your blood pumping. LiteIcon is free and will let you automatically change all of your OS X icons except for the many application icons, I’m sure you’re yet to have. Candybar is a great application that will also accomplish these goals as well as changing any application icons that you wish, but it has a price tag. I find this little application just what I need for a quick wardrobe change between acts. Actually, if I want to change any of the beautiful application icons, I just find the icon I want, download it from somewhere like interfaceLIFT and store it away in a folder marked Icons. When I’m ready to give something a “facelift”, I choose the new icon by control click or right clicking on it, then I ‘Get More Info’. Once the ‘Get More Info’ window is up, I simply click on the icon at the top until it is encased in a blue glow. Once it has that glimmer, I go to edit then down to copy. I then go to the application in which I’m changing and repeat the procedure, except when I go to edit, I choose paste. That simple. Welcome to the Mac family! Go have some fun. (link)
