Customizing my Mac has got to be one of my most favorite things. Besides changing the theme of the general interface, there are lots of other great modifications that you can do. BowTie is just one of those wonderful mods, not to mention GeekTool.

I’ve been reading about this application for awhile now, but just over the weekend, I decided to give it a try. I’m always looking for a way to quickly edit photos or images without going through the exhausting execution of Photoshop. Well for the time being LiveQuartz is my quick editor of choice. It has a pleasant interface and is useful right off the bat. Even for a beginner, it’s ease of use will surely be a homerun. I would compare this to the not so free ImageTricks by Belight Software. LiveQuartz is not only completely free, but it has all the options of ImageTricks, except for ImageTricks’ misleading greyed out ones that are available with a pro. purchase! Wow, now that’s a trick! It is also similar to MacPaint (painfully retired), with it’s great brushing and painting options. Give it a go, and if you like it, please don’t forget to donate. (link)
